UMA Plunkett Poetry Festival Student Contests

Welcome! We are delighted you are considering submitting your work to one of our student contests. Each year we hold a contest that is open to University of Maine System undergraduate students and a contest that is open to Maine high school students. Both contests use the same submission guidelines presented below.
Important Contest Guidelines
Contestants may submit up to 3 pieces of original work.
Each poem may have a maximum of 52 lines.
Submissions must be blind (Please make sure your name is not present in submitted poem document).

The contest will open January 2, 2019 and the submission deadline is March 2, 2019. First, second, and third place winners will be awarded prizes with a value of up to $100. Additionally, winners will be invited to read their work April 5, 2019 at the Plunkett Poetry Festival.

Notification of contest results will be delivered to the email address you provide. Prior Plunkett Poetry Contest winners are not eligible to participate.
